Multilateral Relations

Malawi is member of  a number of international organizations whose objectives include the promotion of governance and economic cooperation, regional integration, human rights issues, and international peace and security.  The Department is responsible for ensuring Malawi’s participation in the affairs of these organizations and ensure that she is gaining maximum benefits for her membership.

 

The Department is responsible for overseeing the affairs and Malawi’s membership of the following organization:-

  • The United Nations 
  • The Commonwealth
  • The African Union
  • The Non-Aligned Movement
  • The Southern Africa Development Community
  • The Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa
