MALAWI-SINGAPORE RELATIONS
Diplomatic relations between Malawi and Singapore were established in August 1998. The relations between the two countries have remained cordial over the years
COOPERATION
Singapore provides technical assistance to Malawi, through various short courses. The courses encompass a wide range of fields, ranging from technology-related training to courses in natural resources management. The two countries work together under the South-South Cooperation framework and in international bodies such as the United Nations, G-77 and China and the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM).
CONCLUSION
Malawi and Singapore continue to work towards strengthening their diplomatic ties. Possible areas for future cooperation include industrial development (agro-processing), fisheries, and trade, especially in agricultural commodities and foodstuffs (from Malawi) and machinery and equipment (from Singapore).
