Malawi - Kenya Relations

Kenya and Malawi established diplomatic relations in 1964.  The two countries have had long standing historical ties through the foundations that were laid by the two countries founding fathers, President Ngwazi Dr. Hastings Kamuzu Banda and President Mzee Jomo Kenyatta. Malawi has a resident Mission in Nairobi while Kenya is represented in Malawi, through the Kenyan High Commission in Lusaka, Zambia. 



Malawi and Kenya cooperate under the framework of the Malawi-kenya Joint Permanent Commission of Cooperation. Areas of Cooperation include trade and investment, education, health, agriculture and defence and security.
