Malawi - Botswana Relations

Diplomatic relations between Malawi and Botswana are cordial and warm and are predicated on a shared membership of SADC, The Non Aligned Movement (NAM) and the United Nations. 



The two countries established the Malawi/Botswana Joint Permanent Commission of Cooperation (JPCC), which steers mutually beneficial cooperation in various sectors including trade, transport and communications, mining, forestry and wildlife, and defence and security among others. The first meeting of the JPCC was held in Lilongwe, Malawi, in September 2001.
