Hon Tembo attending the Europe Day

Honourable Nancy Tembo, M.P., Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Malawi, attended the Europe Day commemoration, as Guest of Honour at a reception held at the EU residence, on 9th May, 2023. In her statement, Honourable Tembo thanked the EU for its partnership with Malawi in her development journey. She noted the various challenges that needed partnership including combating climate change. In his remarks, His Excellency Rune Skinnebach, EU Ambassador to Malawi noted the importance of the Europe day which was instituted to make war impossible between European countries, but whose importance remains even more relevant in view of the ongoing war in Eastern Europe. He applauded the partnership between Malawi and the EU in various issues including facilitating Malawi's development, addressing the challenges of climate change and promoting multilateralism.
